Getting here

By air

Almost every major airline comes to Nice, and also most of the budget airlines (Easyjet, Transavia, Ryanair, AirBerlin). These are listed on the Nice Cote d’Azur Airport site.

By bus from the airport

Two express buses run from between both terminals at Nice Côte D’Azur Airport  into central Nice, the #99 and the #98.

The #99 bus runs daily,  at half-hourly intervals from 8AM till 9PM , between Terminal 1 & 2 and Gare Thiers (SNCF), the main train station, and takes just 15 minutes. From the train station it’s less than a 10 minute walk (500m) to ChezJosephine.

From the airport you take the #99 bus to the train station. Get off the bus (or arrive by train) at the SNCF station “Nice Ville” , turn left on the Ave Thiers.  Walk one block to Ave. Jean Medecin; cross over the tram lines and take a few steps to the left. You will see the railway bridge with the blue lights, turn right at the bridge, & that is Boulevard Raimbaldi, with the large domed Hotel Kyriad on the corner. #36 is on the other side of the street between the bicycle shop, Velo Concepts,  & a nail salon & spa. The name on the doorbell is MACKENZIE.

The  #98 bus runs daily, every 20 minutes from 5AM till 11PM from both terminals, direction  “RIQUIER”  and takes 30-40 mins to get to the tram stop, .  You can take this bus when the #99 isn’t running, (i.e. before 8AM and after 9PM ), and get off at the stop “Cathédrale Vieille Ville”, cross over the tram lines to the tram stop and take the tram going in the opposite direction, to “Henri Sappia” to the Gare Thiers/SNCF tram stop.  When you get off the tram the Boulevard Raimbaldi is the first street on your right, just before the blue railway bridge (see above).

The price of bus ticket to/from the airport 6€, & it is also NOT an all day bus pass as before.

A single journey on the tram/bus is 1.50€, and an all day (24 hr)pass is 5€. Tickets are valid for 77 minutes in one direction; they cannot be used for a round trip.

You can also take the bus #23 from Terminal 1 (service finishes at 20:00) to within 2-3 blocks of the train station (get off at Gambetta/Ave. Thiers) for 1,50€, but it takes 45-60 minutes & stops at every stop

Ligne d’Azur trams and buses

The train station St. Augustine serves the airport.  Only the local (TER) trains stop there, not the TGVs.  They are approximately every 20 mins until 23:00.

Using a car in Nice during the tourist season can be expensive and frustrating. Street parking costs €1-2 per hour, and there is normally a 2 hour maximum, although feeding the meter is permitted.  There is underground parking at a number of locations in Nice, but in the high season they are often full and can be expensive.
Interparking France has three underground parking locations in Nice, including one within walking distance of the hotel.
